We are husband and wife wedding photographers located in Ann Arbor who focus on storytelling and intimacy.

At our core, we are storytellers. We are driven to capture emotion so every time you look at your photos, you remember exactly how you felt. Your story will be woven together by countless moments – not just the big ones, but the little ones you may not realize are occurring.
The reason we are photographers is simple. We understand these images are what you leave behind for your children and grandchildren. These photographs are your heirlooms and your legacy.
Places you might have seen us
The start of our careers was spent photographing college football together. We met while studying photojournalism at Central Michigan University for the college newspaper. #FireUpChips In 2013 we married and officially started Matt + Ashley Photography together.
We currently live outside Ann Arbor, Michigan with our daughter Stella and our tuxedo cat Gizmo.
01 - We are dog people with an adopted cat.
02 - Everyday we talk about traveling again in Europe.
03 - Ride or die Detroit Lions and Red Wings fans. Retire #91 in Detroit!
04 - Late-night concerts have been traded for Sunday morning matinees with Stella.
05 - He's anything whiskey. She's espresso martini.
06 - Morning coffee is a must in our house.
Details should be used to enhance the story.
They should be more than pretty isolated objects neatly propped up. They should have something to say about what you notice, but nobody else sees.
Spent a small portion of the late afternoon launching rockets as high as high as trees and as Dad tried to catch the spiraling lawn darts from sniping your innocent brother.

I really want to extend my family photos beyond just portraits. Obviously there would be a mix of portraits and documentary work, but this is something I’m hoping to incorporate this spring/summer.

I love the process of archiving old work. It`s tedious, but so revealing.
It`s a reminder of my personal growth and vision. As time passes I see old work with a new set of eyes and often find pieces I didn`t appreciate enough the first time through.
